Tigers won both Aviva Premiership Rugby encounters with the Chiefs last year, but at least Exeter did record a first victory over Leicester in 45 years when they won 35-10 at Sandy Park in the Anglo-Welsh Cup in January.
Leicester Tigers begin the new season at Welford Road for the first time since 2006, and have lost in round one for the last two seasons. Tigers have not lost at home to any team other than Saracens in the Premiership since London Wasps were the visitors in September 2008.
Exeter Chiefs concluded last season’s Aviva Premiership Rugby campaign with a pair of victories against Sale and Wasps, and have only won three successive Premiership matches once before.
