Wasps’ Guy Thompson endorses Move Like A Pro

MLAPTwitter2

Wasps’ Guy Thompson is looking forward to seeing Premiership Rugby’s new ‘Move Like A Pro’ initiative in action, with hundreds of fans set to be given access to his top tips for healthy living – helping men live happier, healthier and longer lives.

Thompson plies his trade by making shuddering carries, winning turnovers and scoring tries against the likes of three-time European Champions Toulon this season.

Anyone who watched him dive over in a breathless encounter with Toulon will know that he is one of the fittest, strongest players in the country.

Kicking off in April, Wasps along with Bath Rugby, Newcastle Falcons, Northampton Saints and Saracens will be running ‘Move Like a Pro’ as an online course, but also giving fans the chance to train at their local clubs in sessions run by clubs’ own training staff.

‘Move Like a Pro’ is designed in particular for those rugby fans who are not currently active and miss the feeling of training and being part of a team, and Thompson believes there’s no better cause.

“It’s great that we’re working with the Movember Foundation,” he said.

“Wasps have always been behind the Foundation and it was fantastic to raise so much money as a team for Movember last year.

“I’m looking forward to seeing this partnership develop further and knowing that there will be a free online training programme to encourage supporters to get fitter is brilliant.”

All rugby fans can sign up to this unique opportunity at www.MOVELikeAPro.co.uk, Wasps fans can access a 12 week direct delivery programme designed for them by Pro trainers and nutritionists that will guide them towards better health and wellbeing.

And Sarah Coghlan, County Director UK at Movember Foundation, says this is just the beginning of a flourishing partnership with Premiership Rugby.

“Premiership Rugby and the Movember Foundation have a longstanding history; players and fans bring so much energy to the sport, and they have also embraced Movember with a similar passion.

"The rugby community has raised masses of funds and awareness for men’s health over the years, and we look forward to them enjoying and benefitting from this exciting new programme” she said.

“Together we want to get rugby fans moving and affect positive change on the health of rugby fans to inspire a legacy of long-term change across the rugby fan community.”

Move Like a Pro is a partnership between Premiership Rugby and the Movember Foundation to inspire a legacy of long-term lifestyle change across the rugby fan community. Directly linked to the Movember Foundation’s vision of creating a world where men live happier, healthier and longer lives, Move Like A Pro starts with simply… moving.
