Sale Sharks have named their side to take on Wasps in the Anglo-Welsh Cup on Friday evening at the AJ Bell Stadium (kick off 8.15pm).

Lou Reed & Ben Curry will make their Sharks debuts, having been named in the starting XV. Curtis Langdon, Matt Rogerson, and new signing Josh Charnley will also make their Sharks debuts, if called off the bench. Mike Phillips returns to the starting side, and will captain the Sharks. Tom Arscott makes a welcome return to the squad, having been out injured since April.

Speaking ahead of the game, Diamond said: “The Anglo-Welsh Cup is a competition where we can play some of our younger players a go, plus welcome back some of the players who have been out with long-term injuries. We want to do well in this competition this season and we will be going all out to win the group if we can. Wasps will be a difficult challenge on Friday night, but it’s one we’re looking forward to.”
