Sale Sharks Team News

ELewis-Sale-0605

Sale Sharks have named their squad to take on Newcastle Falcons on Saturday in the final Aviva Premiership game at Kingston Park (kick off 3.30pm).

A victory could see Sale Sharks finish as high as fifth in the league table providing Northampton and Harlequins lose. Sale are unbeaten in their last four Premiership Rugby encounters with the Falcons since Newcastle's 15-14 victory at AJ Bell Stadium in September 2013.

Steve Diamond has opted to make one change to his starting XV, with Eifion Lewis-Roberts coming in to replace Ross Harrison. Danny Cipriani, Tommy Taylor, Vadim Cobilas are set to make their final starts for the club. Mark Easter & Joe Ford are set to play their final games for the club, if called upon.

Sale Sharks: 15. Mike Haley, 14. Will Addison, 13. Sam James, 12. Johnny Leota, 11. Nev Edwards, 10. Danny Cipriani, 9. Peter Stringer, 1. Eifion Lewis-Roberts, 2. Tommy Taylor, 3. Vadim Cobilas, 4. Bryn Evans, 5. Andrei Ostrikov, 6. Cameron Neild, 7. David Seymour (c), 8. TJ Ioane

Replacements: 16. Neil Briggs, 17. Ross Harrison, 18. Brian Mujati, 19. Jonathan Mills, 20. Mark Easter, 21. James Mitchell, 22. Joe Ford, 23. Mark Jennings

Steve Diamond said: "The fact they've (Newcastle) got nothing to play for means nothing to us. We've got to play well, and prepare well. We've got to go up there and have a good crack at winning the game. We can't worry about the other teams. We have a job to do. We've got to be positive and believe in what we're doing. We'll have a fierce battle against Newcastle, but if they do that, we'll stand a good chance of the victory"
