Sale Sharks Name Side To Take On Gloucester

Ben Curry

Sale Sharks have named their side to take on Gloucester Rugby at Kingsholm tomorrow afternoon in the Aviva Premiership (kick off 3pm).

Steve Diamond’s men travel down to the West Country on a high following their bonus point victory over Worcester last Friday evening. Diamond has made just one change to the starting XV who secured the win, with Ben Curry, who scored one of the five tries against the Warriors, replacing his brother Tom at flanker. On the bench, prop James Flynn returns to the bench, replacing Jake Pope

Sale Sharks:

15. Mike Haley
14. Denny Solomona
13. Sam James
12. Mark Jennings
11. Byron McGuigan
10. AJ MacGinty
9. Mike Phillips

1. Ross Harrison
2. Rob Webber
3. Halani Aulika
4. Bryn Evans
5. Andrei Ostrikov
6. Cameron Neild
7. Ben Curry
8. Josh Beaumont (c)

Replacements:
16. Tom Curry
17. James Flynn
18. Kieran Longbottom
19. George Nott
20. Laurence Pearce
21. James Mitchell
22. Sam Bedlow
23. Josh Charnley

Looking forward to the game, Diamond said: “Our ambition is to finish as high up in the table as we can, we set a target at Christmas, after we lost to Bristol, that we needed to get to 35 points, and we got there, with three games to go. I’m pretty confident we can get 40 plus, and there is no bigger challenge of Kingsholm at the weekend. It’s a daunting place to go, but we’ve got no pressure on us.”
