Rhys Gill to bid farewell to Saracens at the end of the season

The Wales international will re-join the Welsh region from whom he left for Saracens in summer of 2009. Gill, who has won six caps for Wales during his time at Saracens and link up with the club that gave him his senior debut against Ebbw Vale in September 2005.

The 2011/12 Saracens Player of the Season left Cardiff for north London in 2009 and within five months, he was a first team regular for Saracens and also a member of the Welsh Six Nations squad.

He made his debut from the bench against Ireland at Croke Park in 2010 but he had to wait until 2012 for his second cap and was part of the Welsh squad to tour Australia in the summer of that year.

Speaking about his move back to Cardiff, Gill said: "I've had a great time at Saracens; it's a brilliant club and I've loved the atmosphere and environment. We've had some success and I want to play a big role the rest of this season.”

Saracens director of rugby, Mark McCall: “Rhys has been a fine servant to Saracens. He has made over 150 appearances for the club and has been a very important part of the group since he arrived in 2009. At the age of 29 he wants to return to his home country with his young family and he will leave with the best wishes of everyone at the club. He still has a big part to play before he leaves at the end of the season.”
