Falcons Blitz Social Media ahead of Saints visit

Newcastle Falcons have been enlisting the help of their magnificent army of supporters to undertake a huge 48-hour blitz on twitter and Facebook to promote their match against the reigning Aviva Premiership champions, Northampton Saints on Sunday.

Supporters have been asked to retweet the promotional poster that the club posted via its official twitter account and Facebook page to raise awareness far and wide with a pair of West Stand Category A tickets plus post match player bar passes.  
 
The lucky winners will get their photos taken with the players and the pictures will then be signed and sent on post event.  
 
Via Twitter, there are two ways to win:
 
1.      The person who gets the most retweets of the poster (plus retweets of their retweets!) by Friday 19th at 2.00pm. Tweet the club at 14:00 with the number and once validated the most retweets will win the first pair of match tickets, passes and the photo opportunity
2.      The person who in the opinion of the judges (Falcons Communications Team!) gets a retweet off the most notable celebrity or the most unusual/unrelated twitter group will win the second.
 
Through Facebook, a pair of premium tickets, passes and a picture with the players to the person who gets the highest combined number of likes and shares for posting the match poster by 14:00 on Friday.  Enter your ‘score’ on the news feed that will be set up.
 
Speaking about the social media blast managing director Mick Hogan (@mickhogan2) commented:
 
“This is a great bit of fun for our supporters to show us how innovative they are and in turn push the message out about the champions Northampton Saints coming to Kingston Park.  Being relatively new to social media I’m constantly amazed at the impact and reach it now has and how central it is to lots of people’s lives.  We want to use that to our advantage when it comes to letting people know what is happening at the club.  We also want to be a bit different so expect a few different things from the club over the season as we look to engage with fans in a less corporate way."
