Cipriani expects the Sharks to ‘turn up’ on Friday night

Danny Cipriani is confident that his side are mentally prepared for their Friday night fixture against Harlequins.

The Sharks are back in action swiftly following Sunday’s victory against the Northampton Saints.

“In these next couple of days, it’s about mentally making sure you’re on it and turning up on Friday night.” said Cipriani.

Cipiriani celebrated his 28th birthday yesterday and will be looking to top off the week with a win on Friday.

The flyhalf described how the teams training is altered facing a five day turn around for the match, “We still trained pretty hard, making sure we got some running in to our legs to get the lactic acid out from the weekend, whilst also continuing to learn, and getting some good shape.”

With doubt over Chris Cusiter’s fitness for Friday’s game, Cipriani was excited with the prospect of linking up with scrumhalf, Peter Stringer, saying, “I haven’t played so much with Strings, but training with him I enjoy the speed he gets to the breakdown and how he marshals the forwards.”

Speaking about the team’s current form in the Aviva Premiership, Danny said, “What we need to do to make sure we win games and not forget what we’re good at. In the last couple of weeks, we’ve just got back to that, whilst still trying to improve”.

Cipriani stressed the importance of the Sharks upcoming fixtures. “The next couple of games will be big for us so we can keep implementing what we’re trying to do as a squad”.

After Friday’s game, The Sharks will move on to Europe with two games against Newport and Pau in the European Challenge Cup

Cipriani and his Sharks face Quins down at the Twickenham Stoop on Friday, 7:45pm. (BT Sport)
