Bristol Rugby team to face Bath Rugby

Billy Searle is set to make his first competitive start for Bristol in the West Country derby on Thursday evening (7.45pm KO).

The Academy fly half is one of eleven changes ahead of the European Challenge Cup clash at the Recreation Ground.

In the backline, Jordan Williams, Ryan Edwards, Will Hurrell and Will Cliff return to the starting line-up.

Bristol name a new front row trio with Kyle Traynor, Chris Brooker and Anthony Perenise selected, while Jon Fisher, James Phillips and Jordan Crane also come into the side.

“Thursday night rugby in Europe, under the floodlights at the Recreation Ground, will be a good experience for all the guys selected to play,” Director of Rugby Andy Robinson said.

“For both sets of supporters, it’s great to have a West Country derby to enjoy and everybody is looking forward to the fixture.”

Rob Hawkins and Giorgi Nemsadze could make their first competitive outings for Bristol from the bench, while new arrival Shane Geraghty is also included in the 23-man squad.
