Why England shouldn’t pick players from abroad

Why England shouldn’t pick players from abroad

There is no doubting that Steffon Armitage is a world class back rower.

His statistics for Toulon are superb and he would be a shoe in if he played his club rugby in England.

However, playing in Toulon ended any chances of donning the rose. Reports recently have suggested that he might be considered but personal opinion suggests that that would be a bad idea.

If those floodgates are opened and players can play their club rugby in France and still play for England there is no doubting more players will leave for the big money clubs.
