Re-live the Final with blogger Dan Evans

80,589 people took their seats in South West London, ready to watch the culmination of the domestic rugby season in England, writes Bloggers’ Bench member Dan Evans.

Two time Champions Saracens faced a Bath side looking for their first league title in the Premiership era.

Bath started the game with real intent with multiple quick line-outs, attacking from the kick-off, caught my Anthony Watson. In the opening exchanges the Saracens defence stayed strong under pressure, not allowing Bath to gain much ground, before undergoing a good exit.

A turning point came early on when a counter-attacking Anthony Watson was taken high by England team-mate Owen Farrell. Post-match Mike Ford stated he believed it should have been a red card, something I think he will admit was rash. Personally I think Wayne Barnes was right to just award a penalty but Anthony Watson was not to be seen again and that had an impact on Bath.
