After another dramatic weekend of Aviva Premiership Rugby action we can expect yet more big hits when the season’s top two tacklers go toe-to-toe at Welford Road.
Gloucester Rugby’s Lewis Ludlow and Leicester Tigers’ Sione Kalamafoni have produced a crunching 73 tackles in the opening two weeks, with the latter conjuring a joint league high of 21 last weekend against Northampton Saints.
Bath Rugby’s Semesa Rokoduguni will be looking to continue his fine start to the season as his side take on Northampton Saints after the wing was named in Channel 5’s David Flatman’s team of the week for Round Two.
Rokoduguni travelled 156 metres in last weekend’s thrilling victory over Saracens, the second highest in the league, while also scoring two late tries to earn Bath victory.
In fact the match-up at Franklin Gardens has a host of players named in Flats’ XV from Round Two with the contest boasting six of his team of the week.
One of those is Courtney Lawes who made 16 carries in Saints’ 24-11 victory over Tigers and the England international has the highest number of carries of any player so far this campaign with 37.
The contest also sees Flats’ pick at No.7, Francois Louw, who has produced the most turnovers this season, four.
American fans can look forward to a thrilling contest in Philadelphia when Newcastle Falcons take on Saracens with Alex Goode in sparkling form.
The 29-year-old beat ten Bath players in last weekend’s defeat and made 190 metres, no player produced better in either category.
Saracens also boast Schalk Brits who produced more offloads, five, and more carries, 19, than any other Aviva Premiership Rugby player last weekend.
As for Falcons, they will be looking towards Calum Green as his league-high number of lineout steals last weekend, three, booked him a place in Flats’ XV.

London Irish may have lost their second match of the season against Exeter Chiefs but Tommy Bell could help them get back on track this weekend against Sale Sharks after he was named in the team of the week.
The versatile back made 14 carries in their defeat at Sandy Park and has notched up 26 overall this season.
Elsewhere Flats’ pick at blindside flanker, Don Armand, will be hoping his work at the lineout will help Chiefs to their second successive league win over Worcester Warriors.
The 28-year-old won eight lineouts last weekend, only Saracens’ Maro Itoje claimed more.
