Match Report: Saracens 46 Worcester Warriors 31

Jackson Wray and Nathan Earle both bagged try doubles as Saracens ran in six tries in a 46-31 success over Worcester Warriors at Allianz Park.

Four first-half tries were shared as Josh Adams, scoring for the sixth straight game, and Sam Lewis went over for the hosts either side of tries from Ben Spencer and Sean Maitland.

But Wray went over twice in the second half with Earle also adding a pair of late scores but tries for David Denton and Jamie Shillcock ensured a try bonus point for the Warriors.

Adams’s fine form continued as he collected a Chris Pennell grubber kick to score for the ninth time in this campaign in the opening five minutes with the Warriors full-back adding the extras.

But Spencer dived over from close range to get his side back into the contest before Earle’s break created space out wide for Maitland to utilise and grab Saracens’ second.

Farrell and Pennell exchanged penalties before Ryan Mills sent flanker Lewis through in the dying moments of the half as the teams went in level at 17-17.

After a second Farrell penalty, the Saracens pack earned the hosts’ their third try with a five-metre driving maul which saw Wray peel off and scamper over from close range.

And it was the No.8 who went over for the bonus point score as the Saracens pack looked to assert themselves through a series of driving mauls, Farrell converted to make it 34-17.

Denton brought the Warriors back into the game with a score on 64 minutes and Pennell’s conversion moved the visitors back within ten points.

But Nathan Earle twice found space out wide to go over to take the game away from the Warriors with Farrell nailing five conversions out of six in addition to his two penalties.

The Warriors didn’t leave empty handed though as Shillcock got their fourth try in the final play of the game to earn them a try bonus point in defeat.
