Countdown to the release of Gallagher Premiership Rugby fixtures

With the players already in the thick of pre-season training, it will not be long before the new Gallagher Premiership Rugby season comes around once again.

But before the 2018/19 campaign can get underway, there is the small matter of the fixtures being released to give fans the chance to see when the crunch clashes and derby days will take place.

One of the most anticipated days in the summer, the fixtures launch will take place on July 6 and will see representatives from the 12 clubs come together to find out who they will face and when.

Here’s everything you need to know about the day including where it will take place, who will be in attendance and where you can follow what happens.

Where is it?

The announcement of the Gallagher Premiership Rugby fixtures will once again take place at the top of BT Tower in central London, with the reveal taking place at 11am.

Where can you follow?

Once the fixtures have been shared with clubs, they are announced by Premiership Rugby.

The full schedule will be available on the Premiership Rugby app from 11am on July 6, while you can also follow all the latest information on Twitter and Instagram @premrugby and Facebook.

Who will be there?

Plenty of big names will be in the house to find out who is playing who as the excitement builds for the opening round of the new season later this year.

Schalk Burger will be representing defending champions Saracens, who reclaimed the title with a 27-10 win over Exeter Chiefs at Twickenham, along with forwards coach Alex Sanderson.

Bristol Bears chief operations officer Mark Tainton will be looking forward to finding out who the newly-promoted side will face on their return to the top division.

He will be joined by Bears back-rower Jordan Crane, while former All Blacks centre Francis Saili will be representing Harlequins and David Flatman will be on hosting duties.

Key fixtures to look out for?

The important games to look out for will be different depending on who you support, but there are some fixtures that stick out like a sore thumb due to their significance.

For example, there will be widespread interest in the first replay of last season’s final between Saracens and Exeter Chiefs as both sides look to lay down a marker.

The reveal of the derby games also gets fans animated, with followers of Bath Rugby and Gloucester Rugby eager to find out when the first West Country derby will take place.

Other key dates to look out for will be big stadium games, with recent seasons seeing Saracens play at Wembley and the London Stadium and Newcastle Falcons relocate to St James’ Park.
