Community programmes

Premiership Rugby and our clubs take our responsibility in the community very seriously and we are committed to bring about societal change and have made the establishment of a community programme part of the Minimum Standards Criteria for entering Gallagher Premiership Rugby.

We are proud to say that around 250,000 young people participate in Premiership Rugby and club-funded projects annually.

Our flagship programme is Project Rugby, is run by Premiership Rugby at our clubs in collaboration with Gallagher, England Rugby and is designed to increase participation in the game by people from traditionally underrepresented groups. Project Rugby was extended in April 2022 to bring young women and girls from diverse backgrounds into rugby in partnership with the Asian Sports Foundation.

We are proud to say that around 250,000 young people participate in Premiership Rugby and club-funded projects annually.

The League and its clubs through our “Plan to Improve A Million Lives” strategy now support a range of initiatives aimed at improving sports participation, physical and mental health, educational attainment, employment opportunities and community cohesion.
