World Rugby

As one of the leading club leagues in the world, Premiership Rugby has a positive, long-term relationship with World Rugby.

World Rugby is the world governing body for the sport of rugby. The organisation is responsible for the Rugby World Cup, held every four years, as well as the regulation, promotion and development of rugby worldwide.

World Rugby set the laws of rugby, as well as being responsible for any changes to the laws in order to better promote the game or to enhance player welfare, such as the introduction worldwide of the Head Injury Assessment protocol.

World Rugby also established the international calendar, so the Premiership season must fit in around international requirements as laid down by World Rugby.
