Gallagher Premiership stars predict World Cup outcomes
With the Rugby World Cup teetering over the horizon we asked a group of Gallagher Premiership rugby stars to make some bold predictions about what they are expecting to see in Japan.
Exeter Chiefs’ back-rower Matt Kvesic made light work of the job and opted to work ‘back-to-front’ in order to put England in the number one spot.
Others took a more methodical approach and analysed the four pools of teams to work out who they thought would be sailing through to the quarter-finals.
Scotland ‘have to’ get through according to Bath prop Beno Obano while Gloucester winger Matt Banahan and Harlequins fly-half Marcus Smith both fancy Fiji to impress.
There was no doubt in any of the players’ minds that New Zealand are the hot favourites for the competition but like Kvesic, London Irish fly-half Stephen Myler remained patriotic backing England all the way.
