Sale Sharks have announced their squad for the opening European Challenge Cup Pool 3 game against U.S.A.Perpignan at the Stade Aime Giral on Friday 12th October (kick off 8.45pm local time).

Faf De Klerk returns from duty with South Africa and has Kieran Wilkinson (19) as his half back partner. James O’Connor and Rohan Janse Van Rensburg start at centre, with Tom Bristow, this week’s signing from Narbonne, on the bench.

Looking ahead to the game, Sale Sharks’ director of rugby Steve Diamond said: “This game provides a really good challenge for us. The club has won this competition on two occasions, and travelling to play Perpignan is a big task. We want to progress through the Pool stages to the knockout phase.

“Faf wanted to play; James and Rohan are coming back to full fitness and there’s no better stage for Kieran Wilkinson to be ‘put in the mix’. We also welcome Tom Bristow, who can certainly hold up a scrum and we look forward to getting him involved.”
