Jerome Garcès to take charge of Gloucester Rugby in Challenge Cup Final
Jérome Garcès will be the man in the middle for the Challenge Cup Final, as Gloucester Rugby take on Cardiff Blues in Bilbao.
The French referee will be joined by two very experienced assistants in Romain Poite and Pascal Gauzère – all three were selected as referees for the 2015 World Cup.
Garcès last officiated a European game in Leinster’s Champions Cup quarter-final win over Saracens, while Gauzère was the man in the middle for Gloucester’s semi-final win over Newcastle Falcons.
Poite took charge of Gloucester’s 33-28 win over Connacht en route to the Final, as well as Leinster’s Champions Cup semi-final win against Scarlets.
The TMO will be Philippe Bonhoure, making it a French quartet for the Challenge Cup final in Northern Spain.
Meanwhile, Aviva Premiership Rugby referee Wayne Barnes will officiate the Champions Cup Final between Leinster and Racing 92 on Saturday afternoon.
The English official has 199 Aviva Premiership Rugby games under his belt.
