The sun shone on Aviva Premiership Rugby this weekend, with the highest points tally in a single round for nearly three years.

321 points were scored in the six matches, including 82 at Welford Road where Leicester Tigers and Gloucester Rugby produced the highest scoring draw in Premiership Rugby history.

Alesana Tuilagi’s hat-trick in that match also propelled him to the top of the Aviva Premiership Rugby scoring charts with ten tries.

It was also the highest attendance for a single round since Boxing Day, with 74,542 supporters coming through the turnstiles, including 16,428 for the first ever Premiership Rugby match at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton.

Just 14 regular season matches remain before the Aviva Premiership Rugby semi-final, including Tuesday night’s encounter between the third and fourth placed teams; Gloucester Rugby and Northampton Saints at Kingsholm.

As the focus moves to the Aviva Premiership Rugby Final at Twickenham, the last set of tickets for are now on general sale.

An allocation is kept back for the two finalists, for sale in the fortnight between semi-final and final. This allocation normally sells out.

Last season saw Leicester Tigers beat Saracens to retain their title with a late try from Dan Hipkiss. Those two sides sit first and second in the table this time round, with just two matches each left to play.
