The former Wallaby star repeatedly tipped England to fail in their bid to hoist the Webb Ellis Cup for the first time and promised to take the daunting walk of shame if he was proved wrong.
Unfortunately for 'Campo', England prevailed, and the flying wing will give Christmas shoppers some seasonal cheer when he fulfils his promise to trudge down the busy central thoroughfare next week.
The stunt is the brainchild of British bookmakers Ladbrokes whose spokesman Warren Lush said: "David Campese will follow in the England team's footsteps when he walks down London's Oxford Street next week with a sandwich board reading 'I admit the best team won the RWC'.
"To see one of history's great rugby players walk down Oxford Street publicly admitting he backed the wrong horse is not only fantastic sportsmanship, but a sight not to be missed."
Full details will be announced shortly.
