Nel, who has been with the Titans as a consultant for the past few weeks, will have the arduous task of turning around the fortunes of the club that has yet to pick up a log point this season.
The former Connacht, Griffons and Eagles coach has called on four South African players and another South African coach to help him put things right at the Titans.
Free State flank Ryno van der Merwe, who was in dominant form during the ABSA Currie Cup (South Africa's premier domestic competition), is set to make the trip and will be joined by Eagles lock Bloues Volschenk, Pumas second-rower Corniel van Zyl and Lions wing Giscard Pieters.
Also helping out, on a temporary basis, is Alan Zondagh – who is no stranger to coaching in the Zurich Premiership. Apart from having coached Western Province and Eastern Province (now the Mighty Elephants) in the Currie Cup, Zondagh had stints with Saracens and London Scottish in the Zurich Premiership.
