Just two weeks after beating Australia 20-17 in the Rugby World Cup Final in Sydney, England head coach Clive Woodward and his players will reunite in the capital and give supporters the chance to see not only them but also the William Webb Ellis Trophy.

At midday on Monday, December 8, the 'Sweet Chariot victory parade', organised in conjunction with team sponsors O2, will begin at Marble Arch, proceed down Oxford Street and turn right into Regent Street. The buses will travel down Haymarket and are expected to reach Trafalgar Square at 13.00.

Later in the afternoon Clive Woodward, England captain Martin Johnson, Jonny Wilkinson and the rest of the players and management will attend a reception with RFU Council members and staff before going on to have an audience with the Queen at Buckingham Palace.

The day ends with a reception with the Prime Minister Tony Blair at Downing Street.

The Metropolitan Police will be closing roads to facilitate the parade and the anticipated thousands of people who may line the route from Marble Arch to Trafalgar Square to cheer on England's rugby heroes.
