Leeds Tykes look to gain from RWC glory

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

Leeds Tykes will look to use England's successful Rugby Union World Cup campaign to help raise the profile of the Headingley based club in Yorkshire.

Leeds are awaiting the return of England hooker Mark Regan from Australia and his return will coincide with the club's first ever campaign in the Heineken Cup when they take on Neath-Swansea Ospreys at Headingley on Sunday 7th December, kick off 2.30pm.

To mark the occasion the Tykes are offering a "Kid for a Quid" promotion by which all children under 16 will be able to come to the game for just £1.

Commenting on the scheme Community Marketing Manager John Bentley said, "The achievements of the England team is absolutely fantastic and means that the profile of the game in this country has never been higher.

"The start of the Heineken Cup is a massive event in the history of not just Leeds Tykes but also rugby union in Yorkshire and hopefully we can harness the excitement people have for the game at the moment to produce a fitting, bumper crowd," added Bentley.
