Australian back row player Stuart Pinkerton has extended his stay at Sale Sharks for another six games at least to provide cover until Peter Anglesea and Phil Davies are fully fit again.
Head Coach Jim Mallinder said: "We approached Stuart and asked him to stay on and we are delighted that he accepted.
"Stuart has been a major player with us for the last two seasons and his sheer presence and performances have been outstanding.
"Peter Anglesea's knee injury is improving all the time as is Phil Davies' wrist injury. Stuart's decision to stay on has increased my selection options as we aim to push for honours."
