Healey on his way home

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

Healey arrived in Sydney on Tuesday to act as cover for injured fullback Josh Lewsey and utility back Ian Balshaw, but both players have since been cleared for the remaining games, while Healey was released to return to his club Leicester Tigers and will leave Australia on Thursday afternoon.

Lewsey has recovered from a hamstring injury, while Balshaw, who went down earlier in the tournament with a blow to the ankle, has recovered from a knee injury.

Healey is the third England player to be flown out to Australia to act as cover and the second to return home without even taking part in the tournament.

Bath's Martyn Wood spent three days in Perth as cover for Matt Dawson and Kyran Bracken in October (before England's clash with South Africa), while Wasps lock Simon Shaw flew to Australia as cover, officially taking over from Danny Grewcock after the latter had broken a bone in his hand against Uruguay.

Healey will be available for Leicester's Powergen Cup clash against Sale Sharks on Saturday.
