Titans try to recover from the disappointment of the home defeat by Saracens by making changes . A new 2nd Row combination of England Under – 21 Johnathan Pendlebury and Luke Gross (fresh from the World Cup) – is tried. It is a big occasion for Pendlebury to start in the Premiership with the club with which he began his senior career. Ex- Leinster hooker Peter Smyth also makes his first start of the campaign in place of Chris Johnson. Craig Short also returns after a head injury.

The 3-4s see the return of Jacob Rauluni from the World Cup and he takes the captain’s armband – and the versatile Jon Benson starts off in his favoured no. 10 jersey.

“ The squad have trained remarkably well in trying to change things around. A new approach and new training methods have been tried and the players have responded to it all very well. It won’t be long before the first win comes,” said Mike Schmid.
