Schmid has made five changes to the team that lost to Saracens last week as he search for the first win of the season.
In the backline Rauluni, who takes over as captain, replaces Mattie Rhodes at No.9 and Peter Jorgensen returns to the starting XV at outside centre.
Up front, Schmid has opted to field a new second row combination in Gross and Johnathan Pendlebury, with the latter making his first start in the Premiership.
Hooker Peter Smyth also makes his first start of the campiagn edging out Chris Johnson at hooker, while Craig Short returns from injury to reclaim the No.6 jersey.
"The squad have trained remarkably well in trying to change things around. A new approach and new training methods have been tried and the players have responded to it all very well. It won't be long before the first win comes," said Schmid.
