New arrival Fleck makes Bath start

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

The former Bok and Stormers star only touched-down in the UK on Wednesday morning and within a couple of hours of stepping onto English soil he was participating in his first training session at Lambridge.

However, despite the whirlwind start to his Bath Rugby career, Robbie is ready to take on the Tigers on Saturday.

"I have been tracking Bath's progress back home, but it is great to finally be here and preparing for such a big game," said Fleck. "It is very exciting as Leicester are a very good side, but this is such a great way to kick-off my Zurich Premiership career with Bath Rugby."

With backs Brendon Daniel (back), Lee Best (knee), Alex Crockett (knee) and Spencer Davey (foot) all injured, Robbie's arrival at the Rec could not have come at a better time for the Zurich Premiership leaders.

"To say that this is a timely arrival would be a huge understatement," said Jack Rowell.

"We have five backs away at the World Cup and have a further injury fix with those who are here, so to have a world-class player of Robbie's calibre come into the side is a massive boost."

Last weekend Bath Rugby surrendered their 100 percent record to the Falcons, but despite that defeat, John Connolly has been pleased with the start of the season.

"Six out of seven is a tremendous start to the season," explained head coach John Connolly. "We are still not playing to our potential and will be looking to bounce back this weekend. However, the Tigers are a very good side and we are expecting a tough match at the Rec."

The match has already sold-out and a record 9,980 supporters will be packed into the ground on Saturday.
