Rotherham Titans name side

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

Chief Executive Jim Kilfoyle states: "It has been a significant  week for Rotherham Titans. We have had Charlie Harrison banned for 4 weeks despite having the initial charge against him from the Citing Officer over-ruled and then a replacement charge against him from the disciplinary panel overruled, only to be banned for having intent. We heard Michael Wood has crushed a bone in his hand in a tackle that will keep him out for 2 months.”

“Then we invited South African Steph Nel to come in as a Consultant Coach to overview the work of the Coaching Team for the rest of the season. Finally we managed to secure the services of Bernardo Stortoni the Argentinian Full Back who we hope will play a part in Sunday’s match at Reading. ”

The injury to Phil Jones has still not cleared up – so the midfield looks the same. Joe Ewens is back from injury to replace the injured duo of Wood and Strettle. Craig Short who has shown such excellent form is injured to give Russell Earnshaw an opportunity and James Cockle makes his first start of the season against his old club. An injury to Dan Cook in training prevents him from returning to the side.

“Although we are down to our last available, fit players for this week’s squad, the side includes players who want to prove themselves and a very good players’ meeting this week could bring out performances that ,allied to the lack of luck that sides in our position face, might allow us to restart our season.,” said Mike Schmid.
