Saints prop Peillard forced to retire

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

The 30-year-old France A front rower, who signed a two-year deal with the Saints in May of this year after joining from Perpignan, picked up the injury in the recent Zurich Premiership tie with London Irish and has been advised by the medical authorities to quit the game.

Saints Director of Operations John Steele said: "This is devastating news for Renaud, who has brought his family over from Perpignan and has settled extremely well into the club."
