Divided loyalties in the Leeds’ camp!

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

Leeds Tykes are facing division in their camp ahead of Sunday’s crucial clash with Leicester Tigers at Headingley, kick off 2.30pm, although hopefully it will be resolved after Saturday afternoon!

England international winger Dan Scarbrough recently gained a new lodger when loan signing Ryan Walker arrived in the country.

Walker, a South African U21 international, has impressed since arriving in England last month but he will be loyal to his compatriots even if it means falling out with his landlord for eighty minutes.

Scarbrough was part of the England squad right up until the final selection for the World Cup so he knows better than most how well Clive Woodward’s team have prepared for the World Cup and this game.

Scarbrough commented: “The England preparations left nothing to chance and I’m sure they will be ready for whatever South Africa throw at them. England have won the last couple of meetings between the two sides so psychologically they probably hold the upper hand but World Cups are all about pressure and producing your best performance and I am sure they will.”

Walker, who is on loan from South African side Natal Sharks until the end of November, said: “The South African people are very passionate about their rugby and the players know that the whole country is supporting them.

I’m sure they can come together for a big effort on Saturday and hopefully upset the form book. The Tykes have got a massive game on Sunday so Saturday should be a good way to relax after a hard weeks training and I’m sure there will be a few raised voices if it is close towards the end!”
