AT: There has been such a storm over all the injuries this week, is everybody really fit and well for the game this weekend?
CW: Yes everyone is fine, certainly Gomarsall trained 100% with the team today, Bracken did most stuff and Dawson did some rehab work. We just go with medical opinion and we have a world class medical team, and they very rarely get it wrong and they believe all three players will be fine for the weekend and we will do a final team run on Friday morning. So its been a good news day as the medical guys would say and I am very happy because it has given me the chance to go in with my full strength side, we need to be at our strongest if we are going to get a result on Saturday.
AT: As Martyn Wood is flying home he will presumably be able to play for his Zurich Premiership Club Bath at the weekend?
CW: He is available for selection for his club as he will fly home at quarter past three tomorrow afternoon Thursday, and will arrive back on Friday. He has clocked up a lot of airmiles and will fly home business class, so don’t feel too sorry for him. All the Zurich Premiership clubs have been fantastic in their support, these issues do happen but it was the right decision to bring him out because of the situation we were in and Michael Foley was, like all the Zurich Clubs have been, excellent and I would just like to thank him for that.
AT: Few changes on the bench just talk us through them.
CW: Danny Grewcock who has a broken toe, who could play if we needed him too, so Corry comes in to play for Grewcock and we have switched Regan and West around. West was always going to bench for this game, we played Mark in the Georgia game purely because he hasn’t played since the Wales game. It was a difficult decision between the two but Regan will play against Samoa.
AT: The players all know how big this game is, it’s a huge match and Martin Johnson was saying that this was the biggest game for England since the last World Cup. Are the players building up for what will be a huge match?
CW: It doesn’t need me or any of the media to build the team up, they know what is at stake, we don’t try and make it anymore than it is. It’s a huge game by anyone’s standards and everyone knows the ramifications of it, and Martin is absolutely right, this is the biggest game for this group of players and this is why I am pleased that we are going out with this group of players. We have been building up for this game for a long time and we are looking forward to it.
