Gloucester name side for London Irish

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

Gloucester Rugby Club’s captain Jake Boer is looking for the team to make a step up this weekend after last Saturday’s opening day victory over Rotherham at Kingsholm.

Commenting on www.gloucesterrugbyclub.com Boer said: “We’re looking for an all round improvement over last week. We were pleased with a win, but not happy with the performance. We know how we want to play, and Sunday will be a big game as London Irish won’t be happy at losing against Leicester last weekend.”

Cherry and Whites director of rugby Nigel Melville names the same forwards pack as last week with Junior Paramore continuing at eight and James Forrester, who picked up his Zurich Young Player of the Year award this week, starting from the bench.

Former London Irish centre Robert Todd comes in to wear the number 13 shirt as a replacement for Terry Fanolua, who has joined up with the Samoan World Cup squad.

Melville and Dean Ryan’s back line selection has been affected with the late withdrawal of Jon Goodridge, who misses out through injury after starting last week’s game.

Tickets are available for Gloucester’s next home game against Saracens on Saturday 27 September from the ticket hotline on 0871 871 8781, on-line at www.gloucesterrugbyclub.com and from the ticket office at the ground.
