TMO trial in England

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

It is the first time that a TMO will be used at a domestic match in England and will act as a trial for Sky Sports to explore the possibility of using it for all televised matches in the Zurich Premiership.

The TMO on Sunday will be Brian Campsall, the former Test referee.

Martin Turner, the Executive Producer of Rugby Union at Sky Sports, said: "We feel the TMO offers viewers another element of enjoyment to watching the game and has already proved extremely successful in our international coverage.

"With the Zurich Premiership becoming ever more competitive and games becoming tighter, the use of this technology can be of great benefit to match officials.

"We're delighted to be working with the RFU and Premier Rugby to implement the TMO in our live Zurich Premiership games, and hope that it can help to progress the game as well as enhance viewer enjoyment."
