Triple signing for Leeds Tykes

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

"David is an extremely talented player who has shown on the international stage that he is a player of the highest calibre and I know he is looking forward to the challenge of moving to Leeds," said Tykes Director of Rugby Phil Davies.

"Although Scott is only 24, he is highly experienced from his two spells at Bristol and his time at Llanelli. He also has the ability to play in the back row and has the right attitude for hard work."

"Matt Cardey is a player I have admired for a long time. He has an abundance of pace, is very versatile and works exceptionally hard on his game.

"Most importantly, all three players played in the Heineken Cup last season and will bring that big game experience to our squad," added Davies.

Rees made his full England debut in the 15-15 draw against Australia at Twickenham in 1997. He has made 11 appearances, scoring three tries for his country, his last international appearance coming against the Wallabies in June 1999 during a 22-15 defeat.

Rees returned to the England stage in the summer of 2002 when he was selected for the England squad to tour Argentina.

Morgan rejoined Bristol last season after a season at Heineken Cup semi-finalists Llanelli. The 24-year-old forward first joined Bristol in the summer of 1997 before moving back to Wales in 2001.

New Zealand-born Cardey has made one appearance for Wales – against Scotland in 2000 – but has been a regular for Llanelli since making his debut in 1999 and has been an integral part of the squad which has made two of the last four Heineken Cup semi final.

The Tykes have also confirmed that they have agreed by mutual agreement to release Samoan internationals George Harder, 28, and Isaac Feaunati, 29, from the remainder of their contracts.

Commenting on the Samoan duo's departure, Davies said, "It is with regret that we have released George and Isaac for next season by mutual agreement.

"Both players have ambition to play in the World Cup and I would like to put on record my thanks for their efforts whilst at Leeds."
