Gloucester duo win top Zurich Premiership Awards

Gloucester’s South African flanker Jake Boer has won both the Zurich Premiership Player of the Season Award, voted by a panel of press and broadcast journalists, and the Zurich Premiership Supporters’ Player of the Season Award, voted for by visitors to www.zurichpremiership.com.

Saracens’ Richard Hill, Paul Grayson from Northampton Saints and Simon Shaw from London Wasps also received significant numbers of votes from the supporters.

Boer was presented with his awards at Kingsholm on Wednesday 27 May along with Ludovic Mercier who won the Zurich Premiership Top Points Scorer Award with 6 tries, 42 conversions, 45 penalty kicks and 2 drop goals.  He was also nominated for the Zurich Premiership Player of the Season Award, but narrowly missed out to his team mate Boer.
