Howley returns for Wasps semi-final

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

The former Welsh captain replaces Martyn Wood at scrum-half as the Londoners battle for a place in the Premiership Final at Twickenham on May 31.

There are just two more changes to the side that lost to Harlequins last weekend, Stuart Abbott starting at centre and Trevor Leota ousting Phil Greening from the No.2 jersey.

"This game will no doubt be one of our biggest of the season," said Wasps Director of Rugby Warren Gatland.

"After last week's loss to Harlequins, the squad has regrouped, refocused and are ready for Saturday. We've had a good training week and on Thursday the players enjoyed a day out doing team-building exercises.

"We play better when we face strong opposition and so I expect the side to raise their game for what will be a powerful Northampton onslaught. All I can add is we are fit, ready and raring to go."

London Wasps: 15 Mark Van Gisbergen, 14 Josh Lewsey, 13 Fraser Waters, 12 Stuart Abbott, 11 Kenny Logan, 10 Alex King, 9 Rob Howley, 8 Lawrence Dallaglio (captain), 7 Paul Volley, 6 Joe Worsley, 5 Richard Birkett, 4 Simon Shaw, 3 Will Green, 2 Trevor Leota, 1 Craig Dowd.Replacements: 16 Martyn Wood, 17 Phil Greening, 18 John Rudd, 19 Ayoola Erinle, 20 Mark Lock, 21 Peter Scrivener, 22 Alistair McKenzie.
