Shoguns stick to winning mix for Sunday

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

Star Argentina fly-half Felipe Contepomi may well figure in Thorburn's plans after recovering from an ankle operation.

Bristol-born Richard Skuse looks set to continue at tighthead prop after a solid display in his first Premiership start against Saints during the week.

The 22-year-old Skuse has been on loan at Caerphilly this season. "My debut meant everything to me," he said. "I've wanted to play Premiership rugby for this club since I was young.

"Wednesday's result didn't go our way, but Sunday is our opportunity to put it right. Wasps have players like Trevor Leota, who will be a massive challenge."

The Shoguns are still without back rower Ross Beattie (Achilles), wing David Rees (groin), hooker Neil McCarthy (knee), props Julian White (knee), Darren Crompton (shoulder) and Emiliano Bergamaschi (knee), and flanker Ben Sturnham (knee).

Bristol Shoguns (squad – 23): Paul Johnstone, Andrew Sheridan, Chris Rowland, Saul Nelson, Richard Skuse, Garath Archer (captain), Scott Morgan, Alex Brown, Michael Lipman, Rhys Oakley, Craig Short, Matt Salter, Peter Richards, Agustín Pichot, Shane Drahm, Felipe Contepomi, Phil Christophers, Daryl Gibson, Andrew Higgins, Brendon Daniel, Matt Carrington, Jamie Williams, Lee Best.

Kick-off: 15.00 BST (14.00 GMT)

* Tickets for Sunday's Zurich Premiership clash are available from the Shoguns Ticket Hotline on 0117 311 1461 and on match-day from 12 noon.
