Christophers lines up at centre for Shoguns

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

Commenting on the club's official site, Shoguns coaching co-ordinator James Grant said: "Sunday provides us with an opportunity to improve the things that were poor in our last game against Gloucester, it also offers a few players a chance to perform in different positions."

With the young England wing in the centre, the Shoguns will line-up with a powerful backline that includes the side's top try-scorer Brendon Daniel, who has missed the last few months with a broken thumb.

Talking about the importance of the game Grant said: "Sunday's match against the USA is a great opportunity for us. We have both Craig Short and Brendon Daniel back from injury and a number of players are competing for contracts for next season.

"Against the USA the players will be able to try and get things on a roll for the Northampton game."

Other players who will be hoping to make the most of the opportunity on Sunday include Bristol born Richard Skuse in the front row and rising talent Rhys Oakley at No.8.

Tickets for the Shoguns against the Eagles are available from the ticket hotline on 0117 311 1461 and will be on sale on matchday. Tickets start from £2 for Under-16s and £5 for adults. Season ticket holders have FREE admission.

Kick-off: Memorial Stadium, Sunday, April 6, 15.00 GMT
