Grewcock free to face Ireland after RFU hearing

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

The 30-year-old Bath second rower is behind Ben Kay and Martin Johnson in the England pecking-order, but has been allowed to take his place among the replacements after the incidents which occured during his club's 27-10 defeat to Northampton on March 15.

He was however found guilty of unsporting conduct after being reported by the independent citing commissioner for ripping up an opponent's scrum cap during the match, and fined £500 ($780), as well as paying costs of £125 ($200).

Should Grewcock have been banned, then there is a long list of potential replacements including London Wasps' Simon Shaw and Leeds' Tom Palmer to name a few.

Grewcock made his England debut back in 1997, and has gone on to win 39 caps for his country, including a start against Italy in this year's Six Nations after injury to skipper Johnson.
