In addition to the Zurich Premiership Final, the top four clubs who have not automatically qualified for the Heineken Cup will enter the Zurich Wildcard – a competition that gives a chance to grab the final spot to qualify for Europe's premier competition. Promotion/Relegation

This season there will be automatic promotion and relegation between the club that finishes bottom of the Zurich Premiership and the club that wins National Division One. As with last season, this will be dependent on the Criteria agreed by England Rugby Limited and England First Division Rugby. THese criteria require certain minimum standards to be met across all areas of a professional club's business including minimum capacity, spectator facilities and administration.
