Dowd re-signs with Wasps

The 33-year-old, who won 59 caps for the All Blacks before joining Wasps in 2001, said: "I'm very happy to be staying on at the club. London Wasps is big club and on it's way to greater heights. I'm confident that we will achieve this over the next two years and it's important for me to a part of it and therefore will re-sign."

Dowd has been an ever-present in the Wasps line-up during their current Premiership campaign, which sees the High Wycombe based club holding down third place in the table.

"I'm really pleased that Craig has agreed to the terms about his re-signing with us, as he is certainly an asset for the club," said the club's Director of Rugby Warren Gatland.

"What makes his re-signing more remarkable is that with the current economic and financial situation within rugby circles these days, Craig is willing to take a significant pay-cut just to stay at Wasps. To me, this shows true commitment and loyalty from his side".
