Bayfield jumps for charity

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

Zurich, sponsor of the Premiership, are supporting the abseil jump by the former Northampton Saints, England and Lions lock.

Last year 1,139 people abseiled off Twickenham to break the World Record for the greatest number of people abseiling in one day, and this year over 1,400 are needed to break the record once again and raise over £200,000 for research into cancer.

A former policeman, Martin Bayfield at 6'10" is the tallest man to represent his country at rugby. Martin won 31 Test caps for England and is now an accomplished after dinner speaker.

Martin said "I am delighted to be supporting this fantastic event, which we hope will raise £200,000 for Cancer Research UK. This really is a great opportunity to see Twickenham Rugby Stadium from a new angle, as well as doing something unique for a good cause."

Places to join Martin in the World Record abseil attempt at Twickenham are still available and Cancer Research UK will be accepting registrations up until midday on Friday 14 March.
