Shogun Beattie confident of Premiership Return

On Wednesday Beattie was ruled out of Scotland's match against France at the Stade de France, Paris on Sunday, following the recurrence of an Achilles injury.

However, the 6ft 5" forward expects to be back for Bristol Shoguns' crunch Zurich Premiership game at the Memorial Stadium in 10 days time.

Commenting on his club's official website, Beattie said: "I'm extremely disappointed. There was a chance I'd be fit for this weekend's Six Nations game. But I need to rest the achilles for a few days and the team travel to France on Thursday."

The 25-year-old back row forward will receive treatment from the Scotland set-up this week and return to Bristol over the weekend ready for training on Monday.

Beattie added: "I'll be back training with the Bristol players on Monday and expect to be ready for the massive game against Harlequins on Sunday, 2 March."
