Full back Lee Best returns to the squad and will be jostling for the No.15 shirt with both Jamie Williams who impressed last weekend, as well as Shane Drahm. Welsh hooker Saul Nelson, who returns after missing the Leeds game through injury, is a further boost to the squad.
The Shoguns coaching staff also promote back row forward Chris Morgan to the 23-man squad. The 21-year-old flanker has staked his claim in recent second team fixtures and adds to Thorburn's options alongside Michael Lipman, Matt Salter and recalled Scotland player Ross Beattie in the back row.
Absent after last weekend is England prop Julian White, who misses out with a knee injury. Garath Archer also returns to the squad amid reports of a move back to his old club Newcastle, and will face a fitness test before kick-off.
Bristol's Argentine scrum-half Agustín Pichot said he is ready to do battle with Leicester for the fourth time in nine months on Saturday, commenting: "I have good memories of Leicester. Over the last three games against them we've played very well."
Bristol became the first team to defeat Leicester at home in a domestic competition for four years when they put 27 points past them in the Zurich Championship quarter-final in May last year.
