Horan to lead Saracens against Northampton

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

Saracens coach Wayne Shelford has been able to pick from strength again this week with Andy Goode, Thomas Castaignède, Morgan Williams and Abdel Benazzi all returning from injury and he makes five changes to the starting line-up from last Sunday.

In the backline Castaignède returns to fullback at the expense of Adryan Winnan after finally overcoming a niggling injury and Ben Johnston replaces the Wales training camp bound Tom Shanklin on the wing. At fly-half there is the return of Andy Goode, after returning to full training this week and Dan Kirton partners him at scrum-half, making his first Premiership start.

Up front, hooker Matt Cairns swaps places with Robbie Russell, while in the second row, Benazzi joins his countrymen Castaignède and Christian Califano after shaking off a slight injury that's restricted him to impact duty over recent weeks. With this being the team's last outing before the start of the Six Nations there is everything to gain for the side that wins on the day, something that Shelford is all too aware of.

"I'm very much looking forward to going up to Northampton on Saturday," said Shelford.

"Saints have lost a few league games on the trot so will probably feel under pressure, but they are a good side. They don't have as much bulk as some teams, but they have mobility, but I'm not thinking too much about them, I'm concentrating on what we're going to do.

"After what we saw of our players last week, I believe that we're good enough to go away to Franklin's Gardens and beat them. It will take a good side to beat us."
