Bath name squad for Leicester tie

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

The club's management have named a squad of 24 for the clash, with the only change being the inclusion of England U21 squad member Spencer Davey, who comes in for Chris Malone.

International locks Steve Borthwick and Danny Grewcock will go head-to-head with England incumbents Martin Johnson and Ben Kay in what will be one of the key battles at the Rec and Borthwick, last capped in 2001, is relishing the challenge.

"They are both great players – in fact, the Leicester team is packed full of great players. But I think the best thing we can do is concentrate on what we're doing, and again try and take the game to Leicester like we took it to Northampton last week," said the 23-year-old.

Indeed, the player who was this week named in the England A squad, believes that despite recent hiccups, the Tigers are still the side to beat in both the Zurich Premiership and Heineken Cup.

"Their pack is a massive, massive threat," said Borthwick.

"They tend to get dominance over a lot of sides in the pack – you see that with driving mauls and their scrummaging. But then they've got some great backs outside them, the likes of Rod Kafer, Geordan Murphy and Tim Stimpson.

"They've got a lot of players who can do a lot of damage. If we let them get their platform up front, those backs can really run riot. So we've really got to take the game to them in every area, and match them in every area, and make sure we are dominant."

Due to the recent cold snap, covers have been on the pitch since Wednesday. The match, which kicks off at 14.15 GMT, is a sell-out.
