Jake was presented with a magnum of champagne and a cheque for £200 on Wednesday 29 January at Gloucester’s training ground, Woodlawns Country Club, following his nomination by a panel of ten members of the media for his recent impressive performances for Gloucester. He plans to donate some of the money to the Wooden Spoon Society to help disadvantaged children.
Gloucester’s South African flanker is the second Gloucester player to win the Zurich Premiership Player of the Month Award this season, with Marcel Garvey taking the award for September.
This season’s winners so far include Marcel Garvey, Mark Regan of Leeds Tykes and Josh Kronfeld of Leicester Tigers.
