England Academy call-up for Sheridan

A Gallagher Premiership Rugby ball

The 23-year-old, a product of the Bristol Shoguns Academy, has moved from lock to loosehead prop this season and has been an ever-present in the last five Shoguns fixtures alongside his front row partner Julian White, who is named in England's senior squad.

Commenting on www.bristolshoguns.co.uk, Sheridan said: "Academy Manager Brian Ashton phoned me this (Wednesday) morning and it was great news. I've been very happy with the move to prop and I just want to improve and be consistent in the position.

The 19-stone Sheridan added: "It's a new position for me and I'm looking forward to joining up with the squad."

England Academy Squad: James Forrester (Gloucester), Marcel Garvey (Gloucester), Chris Jones (Sharks), Robbie Morris (Northampton Saints), Tom Palmer (Leeds Tykes), Henry Paul (Gloucester, not available because of Sevens), Dan Scarbrough (Leeds Tykes), Andrew Sheridan (Bristol Shoguns), Ollie Smith (Leicester Tigers), Andy Titterell (Sharks), Mike Worsley (London Irish).
